Анотація

Від часів Гіппократа існує думка, що селезінка в організмі людини виконує ряд важливих функцій. Незважаючи на всебічне вивчення розвитку, будови і функції селезінки протягом багатьох сторіч деякі питання морфології цього органу залишаються дискусійними до теперішнього часу. У роботі представлений короткий історичний нарис, що розкриває деякі етапи становлення наукових уявлень про будову і функції селезінки.
